The original commission was for the design of a plastic support for orchids, but the project was gradually extended to other climbing plants. One of the client’s requirements was a support design that would cause the plant to grow in a circular shape. Plastia comprises rings that fulfil a decorative role while providing support and shaping the plant. There are six evenly spaced rings around the circumference of the support, each with an opening to pass the stem of the plant through and hold it in place. The advantage is that the support requires no other components such as clips or ties.

Původním zadáním bylo navrhnout podpůrnou tyčku pro orchideje, nicméně postupně se rozšířilo i na popínavé rostliny. Jedním z požadavků zadavatele byl i design tyčky, která by rostlinu tvarovala do kruhu. Tyčka je tvořená kroužky, které fungují jako dekorace a zároveň poskytují možnost opory a rostlinu tvarují. Po celém obvodu tyčky je rovnoměrně rozmístěných asi šest kruhů, které nejsou uzavřené, a kterými lze stonek rostliny prostrčit a zapřít ho tak.Výhodou podpory je, že nevyžaduje používání dalších komponentů - skřipečků, které jsou pro uchycení k standardní tyčce potřeba.
