This year’s expo in Cologne was a great success for me, and I was very pleased. The German design portal Stylepark chose several exhibitors for participation in a selection process for an additional space that was to feature an expressive artistic installation. Brokis, with whom I work, was among those chosen to participate and was awarded the space thanks to my design.
After consultation with the company’s management, we decided to showcase the Capsula light. The design for the installation, which was chosen by Stylepark, was then specifically crafted to fit the light.
The lights, which are described by their creator, Lucie Koldová, as having ties to nature – the genesis of new life, a cell in the world of plants in constant need of light – led me to the idea of a lush jungle landscape bursting with life, the cycle of which does not commence or end without the immensely important role played by light.
In the installation, Capsula is shown as a seed on the ground with a stem growing upwards from it, as fruits on a tree at various stages of ripeness, and then as an over-ripe fruit preparing for the fall back to the ground to perish and close out the cycle. The comparison of the light to nature represents a symbolic expression of the cycle of life. The pervading light is ubiquitous.

Letošní kolínský veletrh pro mě znamenal úspěch, měla jsem velkou radost. Německý designový portál Stylepark totiž oslovil některé vystavovatele, aby se zúčastnili výběrového řízení o další výstavní plochu. Ta měla být expresivní výtvarnou instalací. Firma Brokis, se kterou pracuji, byla mezi oslovenými a výstavní plochu díky mému návrhu získala.
Po konzultaci s vedením firmy jsme se rozhodli pro prezentaci produktu Capsula. Na míru tomuto svítidlu pak vznikl návrh instalace, který byl Styleparkem vybrán k realizaci.
Světla, která již ve svém popisu od autorky Lucie Koldové odkazují na přírodní principy – vznik nového života – buňky – k němuž je ve světě rostlin vždy potřeba i světlo, mně přivedla k myšlence bujné divoké džungle, kypící životem.. celým jeho koloběhem, ve kterém hraje světlo zásadní roli.
Capsula je zde znázorněna jako semínko na zemi, ze kterého vyrůstá stonek, jako plod rostoucí na stromě, postupně dozrávající i zralý, jako plod již přezrálý, který na zemi spěje ke svému zániku. Připodobnění produktu k přírodě symbolicky vyjadřuje celý koloběh života. Prostupující světlo je všudypřítomné.
